The right "balance" would it be to not entertain the nonsensical idea that sheet music is racist. Science, math, music theory, music notation, and philosophy can't be racist. There is only one thing that is "racist" -- the idea that people with a certain DNA have certain intellectual limitations. They don't. For everything else, let people study what they enjoy. The curriculum is chosen either by the student himself, if he is old enough, or by his parents. All schools, all education programs should be private. No one has a right to dictate what should and what should not be taught.
