I have used Dvorak layout exclusively for 15 years. It is supported by all operating system, and not difficult to enable. I also touch type (I don’t look at the keyboard). I switched by popping the keys from my keyboard, and spray-painted them black. (Then put the back on.) This was the only way to learn touch typing and switch to Dvorak all at once.
